About Doug Pyper Photographics

With over 25 years as a professional photographer and photojournalist for me the focus has always been the human element.

Whether shooting editorial or commercial assignment, creating portraits in studio or on location, capturing the action of adventure, or engaging in international NGO humanitarian work.

The human landscape intrigues me. It is ever changing, endless in its complexity, and profoundly interesting. It is where my camera has drawn me over and over again.

My passion for photographing people endures to this day as the sole reason I am a photographer.

What I Do

Portraits

I offer deeply moving  human portraits of Children, Family, Couples, Artists and  Public Figures.

Editorial, Cultural and Humanitarian Photography

As a photographer, photojournalist and writer I will work

assignments both regionally and globally upon request.

My primary areas of FOCUS are British Columbia, Canada and Ecuador, South America.

I live in and travel extensively throughout these locales and nearby countries.

Hence, I'm readily available for assignments in these regions with

little or no 'global' travel expenses incurred on my clients.

I will however travel globally upon request.

My photography honestly and emotionally portrays people, culture,

humanitarian issues, global environmental concerns, travel, outdoor

adventure pursuits and the beautiful innocent children of the world.

As both a photojournalist and freelance writer I work for magazine

publications, book publishers, newspapers, create documentary and

multimedia projects on demand, and love to work with global NGO's

and Non-Profits.

I spent seven months last year travelling and doing assignments

throughout the equatorial countries of South America. Related

images may be viewed in Portfolio and Gallery sections of this website.

Why hire me for an assignment?

Experience.

I deliver exactly what you hired me to do (on deadline).

 I will travel worldwide.

I am passionate about my work.

Recent Kudos from NGO Children International.....

"Doug is a gifted and accomplished photographer!
Excellent eye for drama, humanity, and the world in which we live.
And it’s evident from his images that he has an aptitude for communicating emotionally with children of all cultures.

He made things easy for us, by understanding the project, taking charge once he hits the ground, and getting it all done on time with incredible results.

Children International will be using his 2010 Ecuador images for years to come, because they capture perfectly the real lives of the people we help. No qualms about recommending him to anyone or any organization".
